ABC Country is excited to announce that acclaimed singer-songwriter Melody Moko will join the network as the new host of Saturday Night Country, with her first program airing on Saturday 7 March via ABC Country and ABC Radio.
Across her stellar career, Melody has carved out a reputation for her candid songwriting and honest storytelling. Offstage, she’s been a committed advocate for women, gender diverse and emerging artists, as well as mentoring rising local talent as a Group Leader at the CMAA Academy of Country Music. She has also produced the podcasts Parenting Done Rightish and Woman Enough, performed at the Golden Guitar Awards, showcased at Americana Fest in Nashville, and toured with artists including Don Walker, Troy Cassar-Daley and Fanny Lumsden.
On taking the reins of the iconic program, Melody says: “As a lifelong listener of the show, it's an honour to be trusted with taking this role on. Beccy’s boots are some big ones to fill, and I look forward to strapping on my own version of them and doing her proud. Saturday Night Country has a huge legacy, I hope to honour that and I'm excited to be offered the chance to share my love for the show, and country music with the listeners.”
Throughout 2026, Saturday Night Country continues its 30-year legacy of championing and celebrating the full breadth of Australian country music, from emerging voices to industry icons, as well as showcasing the best country music from across the globe. Melody is set to bring her passion, warmth and lived connection to the genre to every show.
